Classics Seminar

This award allows US teachers (grades 9-12) and two-year college teachers who teach courses in Latin, Greek or Classics to participate in the Summer School of Classical Studies of the American Academy in Rome and the Vergilian Society at Cumae (Naples).

The six-week program of the American Academy in Rome and two week program of the Vergilian Society in the Naples area are high-level intensive graduate programs. They offer an ideal combination of a systematic series of guided visits, with an equally systematic lecture series conducted by distinguished specialists on the life, culture, and civilization of ancient Rome and Naples.

Preference will be given to candidates who have a Master's degree in the Classics and have not studied previously in Italy.

Number of grants

10 (estimated).

Grant length

8 weeks (June-August, dates to be determined).
